Profile

Joseph Badtke-Berkow is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from Haverford College in Pennsylvania in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Studies he moved to Japan to work as the International Editor of Knee High Media Japan, a Tokyo based publishing and media production company. At Knee High he served as an editor of the international travel magazine Paper Sky, Mammoth magazine and assistant producer of Paper Sky Television. He continues to work as a contributing editor at Paper Sky Magazine as well as the English editor of the Tokyo International Film Festival's website, for which he regularly writes columns, and as the Japan editor of the international photography magazine C Photo, published in Japanese, English, Chinese and Spanish. His articles on film, art, music and society appear regularly in the Japan Times, Paper Sky Magazine, Planted Magazine, published by Mainichi Shimbun and other magazines, newspapers and websites in Japan and abroad.
