Sun lips protection
Scarf or hat (scarf is better)
Light cotton pants and/or jeans
T-shirts or light shirts for the day
A sweater for the evening and a jacket
Baby Wipes (wet towels) for personal hygiene
Plus the usual toothbrush, etc.

The air in the desert is very dry and pollution is almost non existent.

Cover or attach your hair so it remains protected from the sand as much as possible.

You can be bare feet most of the time or wear trainers. There are neither scorpios nor mosquitoes.

For morning and evening care with wet towels, bottled water, etc., a scarf or a big piece of cloth is useful for privacy.

In some parts of the desert where some water is available, it will be possible to wash hair etc.

NOTA BENE: For those who smoke and drink: it is advised to buy your cigarettes and alcohol from the duty free prior to entering Egypt.

Equipment

To protect your cameras, it is advised to wrap it in cling (kitchen) film.

There will be a generator available to recharge batteries.

Cell phones will be outside reach of any network most of the time.

Projection equipment at camps will be available, so bring cds, dvds, usbsticks to show your contribution(s).

Protection of the environment

All plastic bottles, all wipes, cigarettes filters, and tissues are to be picked up and put in garbage bags. NOTHING should be left behind us in the desert.
